Meet the Maker
Handmade in Edmonton, Alberta
Hi, I’m Katana, the maker behind Tana’s Threads. What started as a love for sewing and creating has grown into a small handmade brand focused on quality, functionality, and timeless design.
Every piece is designed and sewn by hand in small batches, with attention to detail in every step of the process.
Our Story
Tana’s Threads was created with the belief that handmade items should feel special, useful, and made to last. Rather than focusing on mass production, each piece reflects a slower, more thoughtful approach to making, where quality matters more than quantity.
By giving existing materials a meaningful second life, the process embraces comfort, character, and individuality. No two pieces are ever exactly the same, and that uniqueness is something we value deeply.
Our Values
-
Intentional Design
We believe good things take time. Each piece is created without rushing the process, allowing care and intention to guide every step.
-
Handmade Quality
Every item is sewn by hand, from start to finish, with attention to detail and construction that’s meant to last.
-
One of a Kind
Because we work with reclaimed blankets, no two pieces are ever exactly the same, and that uniqueness is something we celebrate.
Our Process
1. Hand-selecting the materials
Each blanket is carefully chosen for its texture, durability, and unique character.
2. Designing the pattern
Patterns are selected and adjusted to highlight the fabric and ensure functionality.
3. Cutting by hand
Every piece is cut individually, allowing the fabric’s natural variation to shape the final product.
4. Sewing and construction
Each item is sewn together by hand in small batches, with close attention to structure and detail.
5. Finishing touches
Details such as buttons or closures are added, followed by a final quality check.
6. Tagging and completion
Each finished piece is labeled and prepared before finding its new home.
